The wild Upland Bird population in Indiana is not what it used to be, and the hunting is hard, but through a lot of research and scouting, we’ve been able compile a list of places to successfully hunt them.

Prairie Grove Hunting Preserve

Open and Booking Hunts Daily

Prairie Grove is one of David’s favorite places to hunt in Indiana.  They offer hard flying birds, a variety of cover, and a friendly staff.  Located in Brazil, IN, they are easy to get to from Indianapolis, Terre Haute, or even Illinois.

Lost River Game Farm

Open and Booking Hunts Daily

Located in Orleans, IN, Lost River is centrally located between Louisville, KY and Indianapolis, IN.  They are well known for their hunts and are open 7 days a week.

Sugar Creek Hunting Preserve

Open and Booking with Limited Availability

With over 700 acres of land in Mitchell, IN, Sugar Creek is a first-class facility for a number of events including upland hunts.

 

 

Registration for 2023 opens in September

 

 

Indiana DNR Fish & Wildlife Put-n-Take

Registration for 2023 opens early September.

Beginning in early September INDNR opens registration for their state-run pheasant put-n-takes at WMAs throughout the state.  Cost is $30 per day and allows for the harvest of two birds either sex.  These hunts are always a lot of fun, and the spots fill up fast!

 

 

 


To be successful in the field, you’ve got to have faith in your guide, the dog, and most importantly the good Lord above!

We work on a first come first serve basis and require a non-refundable deposit to be paid at the time of booking.  We are more than happy to coordinate with the preserves for you or if you have already scheduled with them and just want us to guide for you, that is perfectly fine too.
